The two-day trip with my English friends
On March 27th, I met my English friend, Alice and Rosie at my school. I was so excited and nervous at that moment. But soon, the kindness and the enthusiasm I got from them let me calm down and the talk became more fluent. From the talk, we soon knew each other. After that, my father drove us home. I showed them around the neighborhood I live in and some stores and markets nearby. They said they also had some similar ones like these in England. Then we returned home, my mum and grandma had already prepared all the things needed for making dumplings. They both seemed excited when they heard they could learn how to make dumplings with my family. Alice even took out a little book to take notes of the steps of making dumplings.
In the afternoon, we went to WoGe Square to see the movie “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. They said they like the movie except for the ending. Then we ate Shanxi snacks for dinner. It’s a little spicy, but they seemed not to mind. We drove them back to school after dinner. They felt both tired and happy and looked forward to next day, so did I.
The next day came very fast, on March 28th, we took them to one of the most modern shopping malls in Shanghai——Shanghai Global Harbor. I remembered they had told me in the email they sent to me before we met that they love shopping very much. Thus I took them around the mall. They really love shopping, especially sports stores and skincare products stores. Hardly could I stamp one more step, it’s time for lunch. We ate in a Thai restaurant in the mall. Rosie said she loved the Thai food, especially curry. After lunch, we went to the ground floor. There seemed to be having a campaign for the Easter. The staff gave us a big plastic egg on which we could color. They had great interest in it and drew many funny paintings. But the pity is that they couldn’t take it back for the size of the egg was so big. We had hot pot for dinner at the end of the day.
Though unwilling, it was time to say good bye. We had to return to school after dinner. We gave each other a warm hug. I noticed them have a good rest for they should get up earlier next morning and sent them some gifts. We were all very happy.
From this two-day trip, I got some very important experiences and am also grateful to my school for providing me this chance to meet such wonderful English friends. That’ll be definitely a great memory in my lifetime.
